In mid-September, we traveled to the canton of Obwalden in Switzerland. It was a great pleasure and honor for us to participate in Topakustik’s international event, which was attended by nearly 30 sales partners from all over the world.
Many guests arrived from Europe and the Arab region, as well as from America, Hong Kong, and even Singapore, which helped us establish new international connections and acquaintances. The time we spent there was extremely enjoyable for all of us, and we gained a wealth of new knowledge.
The training sessions and presentations were really enjoyable. The presentations not only covered new products and manufacturing processes, but also existing technologies. For example, we gained a lot of new information and professional insights into veneering, from wood selection to execution.
During the trip, we also had the opportunity to see the beautiful Swiss lakes. Among other places, we visited Melchsee-Frutt, where the lectures were held, stayed in Wilen on the shores of Lake Sarnen, visited Lake Lungern, and finally ended the program at Lake Brienz. You can find photos of the beautiful Swiss landscapes at the end of the blog, in our gallery.

We were really lucky on the first day, as it snowed during the lectures, so we hoped to admire the Alps in their winter splendor. However, we couldn’t see much of the snowy landscape, as the swirling fog and fresh snow cover merged completely, turning the whole world around us snow-white and soft. Because of this, we could only experience the dazzling sight of the snow-covered mountain peaks later.
During our short stay, we had the opportunity to get a glimpse of the local culture and traditions. Thanks to short performances by folk artists, we were introduced to local folk music, yodeling, and traditional instruments, including the alpine horn, which is one of Switzerland’s national symbols.
Did you know that alpine horns can be up to four meters long? In the past, shepherds used these horns to communicate with each other. Today, however, the alpine horn is used as a musical instrument at various celebrations and provides a surprisingly pleasant accompaniment to yodeling.
Alongside the training courses, we also visited several special buildings. We visited the experimental workshop, where we learned that even wallpaper can be perforated, and where we saw Topakustik’s latest products for the first time. The Topakustik Classic product range is expanding with new coverings, one of which is truly unique and serves as a replacement for Micro. We will report on these in more detail later.
We visited two hotels where Topakustik Micro suspended ceilings played a central role. The star-patterned floor of Emma’s Hotel in Lungern was truly impressive, especially since the pattern was also reflected in the Topakustik Micro suspended ceiling. We were amazed by this spectacular solution!
On the last day, we visited the woodcarving museum in Brienz and took part in a woodcarving workshop, which was a really enjoyable and fun experience. Carving and painting the cow was a really entertaining part of the day, which brought us closer together before saying goodbye and heading home.
We conclude our adventure with the following pictures. We hope you enjoy them!
